BY AIR
Tajik Air and Somon Air are the main national carriers. The latter has a direct Dushanbe–Frankfurt flights. More popular routes into Tajikistan are on Turkish (www.thy.com) via Istanbul, FlyDubai via Dubai, and Aeroflot via Moscow. There are flights to various Russian cities from Dushanbe, Khojand and Kulob.
Regional connections include four weekly flights from Dushanbe to both Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) and Almaty (Kazakhstan) and one two flight from Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

GO HIKING TO JIZEW VALLEY
One of the best short-hike destinations in the region, the Jizew Valley offers idyllic scenes around a series of seasonally over-flowing, treelined river lakes. The prettiest lakes are bracketed by two halves of the tiny traditional hamlet of Jizew which has a wonderful, timeless feel. An added thrill of the visit to Jizew, is that there's no car road and the village is accessed by foot.
Yagnob valley is one of the most attractive and interesting valleys in Tajikistan. The valley is ideal trekking country with good paths and mountains on either side. Yagnob is home for direct descendants of Sogdian people and still speak the old language. The upper villages of the valley are inaccessible by transport, and people living there are tremendously hospitable.

With 93% of the land being mountainous you can find attraction wherever you go. The most popular destinations are Fann mountains and Pamirs. Fann mountains with its alpine mountains and lakes is a perfect place to go for trekking, hiking and jeep touring. The Pamirs is diverse west being more rugged with mountain pinnacles, steep-sided valleys and hardly any flat terrain and East being high altitudes deserts with softened peaks and bare expanses. Driving the Pamir Highway, trekking through passes over 5000 m and interacting with the most hospitable people in the world, are just few things you can do in Pamirs.

Trekking routes go from one mountain lake to another over some passes, always with great view on snow-capped mountains and going through different vegetation zones, making it a trekkers paradise with the potential to keep hikers occupied for weeks or longer.
DISCOVER ISKANDERKUL LAKE
Iskanderkul lake is a big lake with incredible milky blue waters, a little bit too cold though. Glacial in origin, Lake Alexander (Iskanderkul) offers panoramic vistas from an altitude of 2,195 m (7,201 ft). The turquoise waters contrast wonderfully against its alpine surroundings In the area close to the lake there is also a 38mt-high waterfall called Fann Niagara and a small dark water lake called Snake Lake.
