BACHOR CIRCUIT TREK. PAMIR MOUNTAINS

This area is undeservedly forgotten and is rarely visited by outsiders. You will see the colorful panorama of Pamir mountain lakes Zaroshkul, Kulen, Uchkul and Yashilkul, meet local pastures while on foot and enjoy the untouched mountains while being alone with them.

Short Itinerary

​

Day 1: Arrival to Dushanbe. City sightseeing  (1000m). 

Day 2: Transfer from Dushanbe to village of of Kalai Khumb (370 km, 8-9 hrs, +350m).

Day 3: Drive from Kalai Khumb to Khorog via Rushan village. Arrival to Khorog (230 km, 7-8 hrs, +900m).

Day 4: Half day acclimatization in Khorog, after lunch drive to Bachor village (120 km, 2 hrs, +950m)

Day 5: Trekking (10km, 5-6 hrs, +400m) Acclimatization walking from Bachor to Kavg spring. Overnight in the tent camp, 3600m.

Day 6: Trekking (16 km, 6-7 hrs, ±600m) Ascent to hot hydrogen sulfide source of Kavg, 4100 m. and continue to Chashin lake. Overnight in the tent camp.

Day 7: Trekking (15 km, 6-7 hrs, +318m, -218m) Trekking Chashin lake (4200 m) –  Zaroshkkul lake (4518 m). Overnight in the tent camp.

Day 8: Trekking (10 km, 5-6 hrs, -200m, +200m) Zaroshkkul lake – Uchkul lake (4300 m). Overnight in the tent camp. 4300m.

Day 9: Trekking (20 km, 6-7 hrs, +250m,-400m) Yechkul lake to Chapdarkul lake (4529m). Caravan with the luggage passes by Langar (4629 m). 

Day 10: Trekking (18 km, 5-6 hrs, -500m) From Chapdarkul lake to Bachor pasture. Overnight in the tent camp, 3600m.

Day 11: Trekking (8 km, 2-3 hrs, +400m, -200m) Bachor pasture – Yashilkul lake (3800 m). Upon reaching Yashikul transfer to Bulunkul village (20km, 1 hrs). Dinner and overnight at the homestay in Bulunkul village (3700 m).

Day 12: Drive from Bulunkul village through Khargush pass (4344 m) to Yamg village in Wakhan valley (150km, 6-7 hrs).

Day 13: Drive from Yamg village to Khorog

Day 14:  Drive from Khorog to Kalai Khumb

Day 15: Kalai Khumb to Dushanbe through Khaburobot pass 

Day 16: Free day in Dushanbe 

Day 17: Departure for airport. Flight home Turkish Airlines.

We expect all participants on this tour to have prior experience trekking at altitude. Mountaineering experience is preferred but not essential.

Accommodation on the trip
In cities or large towns you will be accommodated in 3 to 4 star, twin share hotels. We use quality guesthouses. They are not luxury Inns but we make sure they offer you a truly authentic experience. Homestays are where a local family will open their home providing a wonderful insight into the local culture on a multi share basis. And we will be camping on trekking days in quality two person tents erected in scenic wilderness.
